What Is Dorridge Day?

Initially known as the Dorridge Day Fete it first started on Saturday 14th September 1974 and was organised by the Dorridge Day Village Hall Committee. Proceeds of the Fete went to the Village Hall Building Fund, Scout and Guide Building and other local causes.

In 1980 Gordon Harvey was asked to take on the position of Chairman to represent Knowle and Dorridge Round Table and this is how it has continued to this day, albeit with someone new from Round Table taking the project management lead each year.

We believe Dorridge Day has gone from strength to strength and we see it as an important part of living in this beautiful area. It is a hugely positive community day.

We’ve pulled together some images of previous Dorridge Day brochures with the first in 1974, one from 1980 and then a full set from 2010 onwards. Check out some of the acts from 1974… 😀
